A Summer In Your Arms

1: INT. AT THE JOSH'S INN DAY

FADE IN:

It began with the sound of footstep and then another and the thumping footstep goes thump thump thump almost
matching the drumming sound of a heart beat we could hear the sound collect from a single low thumping to loud multiple steps

of a father behind and his daughter named Charlotte in front, we will wonder who they are until their legs were shown climbing down the winding stairs. The reason for their chase would be confirmed with the fair laughter that accompanied every chase but their faces still a wonder to the viewers. They made for the doors backing the camera with quick short pace and ran outside and the camera emptied into the embrace of outdoors we could see the houses and the beautiful city from that position the laughter continued in the background and then focuses returned on a young woman.

DAD
(He pretends as though he couldn't run faster than his daughter making an attempt to catch her. He follows her as they count less steps to reach the bottom.)
I am going to catch you. You're not that fast.

CHARLLOTTE
(She ran so quickly with the assumption that she is runs faster than her dad which causes the increase in the laughter as they run down the stairs.)
No you can't. I am not faster than Flash in the movie but I'm sure faster than you, catch me if you can.

DAD
(They quickly ran out through the front door with their faces still unrevealed. As they exit the door backing the camera)
That I will.

2: EXT. OUTSIDE THE JOSH' DAY

FADE IN:

MAYA
(The sound of the laughter quiets down as they distanced from the mic and another sound arose from a rocking of a wooden chair and on it sitting cuddled up in a knitted jacket on a spring noon reminiscing on the memories of summer. She is a young lady in her middle twenties, dark hair that settles gently on her face. There's a cup of coffee by her side and then the camera zooms on her wrist a priceless heirloom, a bracelet. She looked at the father and the daughter playing and the beauty it creates with the horizon, then in her mind she began to read in her mind and the viewers could hear her)
Four letter word, so small yet so powerful. Defines our mere existence.

MAYA
(She looked at the father and the daughter playing and the beauty it creates with the horizon, then in her mind she began .)
Four letter word, so small yet so powerful. Defines our mere existence.

MAYA
Have you ever experienced it? Perhaps you have but didn't know it. Let me explain it to you. It makes you live your happiest moments yet takes them away from you and turns them into cherished memories. Have you guessed what it is yet?

MAYA
(in a quiet voice she rested a whisper wrote on her diary and said )
Love.

MAYA
(She drew awing breaths as mentioned love took to her diary again writing and in her mind reads as she write.)
Just like traffic of different cars that gathers from all angle of the beautiful city to meet at the lights, some will follow the red light, stop and stay forever, some will always hang on the green light neither staying or leaving, while others will go. Love comes in different form.

MAYA
(Staring with a day dreaming romantic eyes. we could see flashes of the fragmented memories. First the memory of her in window wearing silk with a man behind her caressing her body as the wind blows the silk floating on her body. The second is another quick flash of her shadow by a fireside with a man whose face is blurry. The third flash shows her running towards a man and the man to running towards her as they met and kissed passionately)
Love is the wind you cannot see it but feel it, it lurks in the chill of the morning dew and in the glowing light of the crescent moon. It runs through the heart like fire running through dry grasses. The romantic flashes shown faintly in a half revealed manner

MAYA
There’s the love of traveling and exploration whether on land or in books; the appreciation of photography and art. Or the enjoyment of late night car cruises blasted with your favorite music laughing to inside jokes. These moments we create help define who we are.

MAYA
(She went on again)
But when “forever” is lived in a second, that’s when you know you’ve found your weirdo. The one that you fell for before you even realized it. Now that’s a different type of love. An unconditional one. That’s when I realized his happiness is more important than my own

(Then the flash back began...)

3: EXT. FLASH BACK OUTSIDE A BEACH HOUSE NIGHT

BACK TO:

The flashback is about the holiday they went on a beach house where she witnessed first hand an unconditional love and were he proposed to her. Witnessing such man she that sacrifice all for the sake of love she knew that his happiness is more important than her own.

JOSH
(It dissolved into a new sequence and zooming on her bracelet and then zooming out we could see Maya sitting outside at a beach house watching the rise and fall of the ocean without the bracelet. A man named Josh called out for her.)
Maya, sweetheart it's getting darker and colder outside. Here is a knitted jacket to cover you from the cold.

MAYA
(She collected the jacket and wore it)
How thoughtful, it is like you are in my head knowing all the things i am wanting. Everyday I make expressions of you tonight it is "Josh cogitantium, it is Latin and it means "Josh the thoughtful " Do you want me to come inside and out of the cold?

JOSH
(He was not wearing any shirt when he sat down beside her in the cold)
I will want you to come out of the cold but if the view is more than the desire to go inside then stay. I will sit here with you in my arms through the night and we will put this cold to shame together.

MAYA
(Maya, all cuddled up in her jacket folded into his large arms kissed him. It was as though the sea was in harmony with their movement the tides fell when she kissed him)
I know only one man who would not take advantage even if his wants matches a lady's. I love you josh. I love you more than life.

JOSH
(Holding each other tight he in a quiet and assuring way)
I love you more

JOSH
(He removed a heirloom from his pocket)
Maya, let me have your hands.

JOSH
(She submits her wrist without an argument and he softly slide it on to her wrist)
That's my mom's heirloom. She said I can give it to my one and true love and that person is you.

(They both fell asleep outside)

4: EXT. I WILL DIE WITHOUT YOU DAY

FADE IN:

She wakes up in Josh's arms and used her jacket to cover him from cold when she looked closely she saw her name written on the sand in the middle of a large symbol of love. Josh had written it while she was asleep she wanted them to share the sunrise together

MAYA
(She called out to him romantically but he was still asleep so she let him be. She left behind her veil and with it the bracelet besides him and then went for a little walk behind the house, she left the heirloom because she saw that she didn't deserve such honor. )
Josh. Josh. Josh

(Josh only turned over still cuddling , the wind then swept the veil to the shore where it was fairly wet by water.)

JOSH
(He woke up from sleep and couldn't find Maya. He was scared . He called out to her.)
Maya, where are you? Maya!

JOSH
(He ran into the house and couldn't find her, he looked maybe she went out fishing with the boat but the boat was still tied and then bam! behold Maya's veil on the shore. Josh screamed and dashed into the river all this while the roaring of the sea didn't allow Maya to hear him. He swam back to shore weeping and languishing)
O Maya I am dead without you. Please come back to me. O sea please take me too, perhaps if fate is kind my body will be swept near her's. I am dead in my living.

MAYA
(Maya was standing behind and heard all he said and when he wanted to drawn himself she intervened)
Josh, no I am not dead I can't loose you. Here I am baby.

JOSH
(Josh not believing his eyes ran towards him as she did towards him hug themselves and kissed poetically)
I don't ever want to leave your side.

MAYA
(crying tears of joy)
I will never leave you.

JOSH
(He swept her off her feet and took her to the beach house)

5: INT. SWEET AND PASSIONATE LOVE DAY

FADE IN:

Maya was out to return the love he showed her by writing her name on the beech. She then turned a surprise that was meant for her into a surprise for him. Last night Josh had set a candlelight dinner for her so when she went in and saw the surprise she made the room more dark created an artificial night and lighted the candles so he could have his wish. When they entered Josh was surprised.

JOSH
(set her gently on the couch)
Wow. You are an amazing woman. The candles they shine brighter when it is you who light them.

MAYA
(Got up and held him)
It is not a surprise baby. It was all your handy work.

JOSH
(pouring wine in two glasses he returned the bracelet to her wrist)
I am surprise that you rekindled the wish of the candle light dinner and made a night of your own creation. Same way you can make light to show me the way when I am lost at night.

(And they made sweet and passionate love to each other to the taste of the fine wine)

6: EXT. THE PROPOSAL DAY

FADE IN:

Josh took her to lunch in one of the island's restaurant. They were dressed to the occasion she was dressed in red and he in a fine suit with a nice hair style all looking classy and when he saw that it was the right moment he proposed to her.

JOSH
(As they were sited he repeatedly kept looking into her eyes trying to find the perfect moment to pop the question. He remembered her favourite wine that gives away prizes to customers. He took the advantage and placed the ring inside the wine glass, he arranged everything with the waiters to start playing a music when he gives them a sign.)
Sweetheart, what do you think about married couples are they not charming?

(Pointing to two funny couples on a table beside them.)

MAYA
(Putting on a disapproving look)
Them? Not at all. They are not my ideal vision of a married life.

MAYA
(They were about bringing the wine with the ring in it but he signal them to go back )
It depends on who I am spending my life with. If it were you I'll live in the gutter with you.

JOSH
(Blushing obviously)
Well, that's the best thing I have heard in a thousand days.

JOSH
(He quickly signaled the waiters to bring the wine. Maya was unaware of what was happening.)
Let's eat honey it's your favourite wine and they are giving away surprising prizes.

MAYA
(They poured a glass into her wine glass and the ring was in it. They were eating for like two minutes and she had not taken a sip. Josh took a first sip and when she followed suit, behold she saw the ring.)
Honey, I think I have won something, hold on it's a ring.

JOSH
(Josh was already on one knee with his hands stretched out then he said putting the ring on her finger )
When I met you I believed that everything was made in twos, you are the other side of my coin, will you marry me Maya Kent?

JOSH
(She was blushing all through, the music was playing in the background )
I don't know what to do, cry or joy to this.

JOSH
(With a begging and humble look)
Don't cry joy to this and say yes.

MAYA
(answered with a jumping happiness repeatedly)
Yes! Yes!! yes!!!

JOSH
Yes to what?

MAYA
(The whole inn began to chant "say yes!" "say yes!!" and then quiets down.)
Yes I will marry you Josh Mc henry.

JOSH
They kissed passionately but then the flash back ended.
